Nellis AFB, Workgroup Manager                                                         September 2000 – February 2005

·        Served as the initial point of contact for resolution of desktop/workgroup-related problems in a 300-user environment. Troubleshot, researched, diagnosed, documented, and resolved technical issues surrounding Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, MS Office Suite, Internet connections, hardware/peripherals and numerous industry specific applications.

·        Responsible for a 50 workstation Local Area Network.  Provided detailed account of user problems and fixed them in a timely manner. Assisted fellow technicians with other help desk issues.

·        Set up workstations and laptops for new employees; configured systems, ensured network connectivity, installed and tested hardware/software.  Replaced defective drives, memory and cards.

·        Supported Microsoft Outlook setup and configuration of outlook accounts, password resets.

·        Used hard drive imaging and data migration software to deploy new Windows XP systems.

·        Utilized MS Active Directory to manage workgroup computers in accordance with Air Force policy.

·        Installed time-sensitive Air Force security patches and implemented virus/spyware removal procedures.

·        Wired offices with CAT 5 Ethernet and configured TCP/IP settings for new computers.

 

 

Nondestructive Inspection Technician                                        January 1985 – February 2005

20 year career military, Honorable discharge.  Inspected aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performed aircraft engine oil analysis. Handled and disposed of hazardous waste and materials. Operated, maintained, and inspected nondestructive inspection equipment. Supervised laboratory and flightline activities. Conducted, and evaluated on-the-job training.  Planned, organized, and supervised lab personnel.
